Big Splash - 19th July

During the service on Sunday 19th July the children are having a party, what we call the Big Splash. A lot of organisation has gone into it, including a great band... If you would like to let your children hear the songs before Sunday you can listen to them here.

Either click on the song to start the track, or use the tab at the bottom-left and you can play all the tracks one after another as a playlist.

Hey Hey, by Duggie Dug Dug
Whoopah Wahey, by Duggie Dug Dug
I Will Wave My Hands, by Ishmael
Help Me be Your Eyes Lord Jesus, by Duggie Dug Dug

It will be a really fun morning for the children, so if you have some, please make an effort to come along and feel free to invite other families to come.

If you'd like to see some photos from the last Big Splash here is a slideshow, or you can click here to go to the Flickr page.

Super Sunday - a momento of the day

On June 21st we are calling the Sunday service "Super Sunday". We'll have a shorter-than-normal service and then go outside for a barbecue and picnic. People need to bring something to sit on and something to drink, but we'll be providing food. We're also going to get some inflatable fun - a bouncy castle for the kids and Sumo Suits, Jousting and an Assault Course for the grown ups!

It's not an 'outreach event' - more of a fun family time to celebrate summer - but feel free to invite any friends or family to come along.

We're going to take a church photo to remember the day, but I saw someone's wedding video and thought wouldn't it be great to remember who was there in a slightly more creative way?

So we're going to copy the idea of below... watch it and get inspired.

What do you think? Are you up for it? Leave any comments by clicking below... but otherwise start learning some lines and think of some creative ways to act out the lyrics, what props you might bring (tennis raquets for guitars, hairbrushes for microphones) and scout out the school and the fields above the turning circle for good locations.

And what if you're a bit shy? No problem, you're very free not to be in the video or just to be in a group shot as part of the crowd.

So if we're agreed that this will be a fun way to remember who's around in Exeter Vineyard in 2009, the final question is... what song? Well, never one to be dictatorial the choice will be decided by vote. There's three options. You can listen to them below and then vote in the poll.

I Say A Little Prayer by Martha Reeves & The Vandellas

Walking On Sunshine by Katrina & The Waves

NOW VOTE FOR THE ONE YOU WANT TO SING:

What song do you want to sing on Sunday 21st June?
Celebration - Kool & The Gang

Voting ends on 12th June... after that lyrics for the winning song will be made available so you can learn a few of the lines.

Things to do with an exercise ball

I think we've got one of these balls in the loft. I need to get it down and pump it up!
